The list of cycle touring websites/blogs to gather inspiration and information from is vast. Those that appear here reflect a fraction of the many that exist, but I hope some of the most useful and popular can be found on this page. If you know of a good link that is missing please let me know.

  • Freewheely: Jean-Baptiste cycled from Switzerland-Cape Town through west and central Africa
  • Sweden to Africa Carl cycled from Sweden to South Africa through west and central Africa.
  • Cycling Cindy: Cycled from Europe-Cameroon. Lot of blog posts here.
  • Dave Briggs: Cycled in many places. This link takes you his pages covering England-South Africa.
  • Shane Cycles: Shane Little cycled from Cape Town-Nairobi.
  • Take on Africa: Helen Lloyd cycled from England-South Africa and wrote a book about it.
  • The Slow Way Home Part of this long journey includes cycling the length of west Africa.
  • to-adi Adrian Guggisberg cycled through Africa with an adventurous route that included the DRC.
  • World Biking Eric and Amaya have been cycling around the World since 2006. Their site has a wealth of information.
  • Biciclown: Alvaro Neil is a Spanish cyclist, aka the ‘Cycling Clown’, who has been on the road since 2004.
  • Cycling the 6: Steve Fabes is an English Doctor cycling around the World.
  • Daisukebike Japanese cyclist Daisuke Nakanishi spent over 10 years cycling around the World.
  • Heinz Stucke A bit of a legend in the cycle touring community. Probably cycled and seen more of the World than anyone else.
  • Janne Corax Swedish cyclist with a passion for high mountains. Website not updated for a long time, but a great inspiration.
  • Beit Heim Swiss cyclist with many years of cycle-touring experience.
  • Travelling Two Andrew and Friedel Grant. Well organised and informative website following on from their World tour.
  • While Out Riding Cass Gilbert has a photographic treat of cycling through the Americas.
  • World Travellers: Nicolai Bangsgaard is a Danish cyclist who cycled around the World.
