Peter Gostelow

Adventure cycling, Photography, Writing

Peter Gostelow is an English born adventure cyclist and public speaker, clocking up more than 50,000 miles in over 60 countries by bicycle. He holds a degree in Geography from the University of London and is a qualified English language teacher, having lived and taught English in Japan.

Peter has undertaken two major solo and unsupported bicycle journeys. The first of which took him from Japan-England in a journey entitled A Long Ride Home.

A Long Ride Home

More recently, between 2009-2012, he cycled solo from England-South Africa. The Big Africa Cycle was a journey made in support of The Against Malaria Foundation.

Peter has spoken widely in Europe, Africa and Asia about both journeys, sharing his stories and lessons from the road to audiences in schools, universities, businesses and charitable organisations.

His photos and writing have been published in  The Adventure Cycle Touring Handbook, The Adventure Cycling Magazine, the Cycle Touring Club magazine, and various other english and foreign language magazines that most likely combine the words ‘cycling’ and ‘adventure’.

He is currently writing a book about his most recent journey, and occasionally  often thinks about other places he’d like to explore by bicycle.
